Tips to keeping things simple and easy
These are our tips to avoid surprises and the unexpected, from ruining your plans for a simple and easy funeral
1 Remove all jewellery prior to transfer into our care
If your loved one is in a nursing home or hospital, you can ask the staff to do this for you and we recommend you collect valuables and belongings prior to transfer into our care.
2 Ordering flowers for the funeral service
Sourcing your own flowers is one way of saving costs on a funeral service. If you would like to have flowers at the service for decoration or for attendees to lay a flower on the coffin, you could bring flowers from home or organise flowers with a florist directly.
3 Funeral service time is 45 minutes
If you choose the cremation + funeral service, your chapel hire is for 45 minutes. This is typically a good amount of time for readings, eulogy, showing photos or anything else that you want to do to personalise your loved one’s funeral. However, you could run out of time if you want to serve refreshments as well.
We recommend you meet with family and friends somewhere after the funeral service if you want a gathering with refreshments.
4 Catering
If you do want to have a gathering with refreshments, at the same location as the funeral, this can be organised separately with the chapel.
5 Using a Celebrant
A meaningful tribute for your loved one can be as simple as a family member sharing memories and stories or reading a eulogy. But, if you don’t feel comfortable speaking in front of others, a celebrant can document and tell your loved one’s life story on your behalf.
We can organise a celebrant for you. You can discuss this when you call our team.

Personalising your loved one’s funeral service
Even though you have chosen a simple and easy funeral service, you can still make it a meaningful tribute for your loved one by decorating the coffin with items that were important to them.
For example, you can place photos and flowers on the coffin, flags of their countries they travelled to, artwork created by grandchildren, or anything that is meaningful to you and your family.
